UMIF Light Microscopy Workshop – Basic - (1 day lectures + practical sections)

The UKE microscopy imaging facility is offering a workshop about the basics of light microscopy and fundamental concepts of data visualization and quantification.
This workshop greatly suits researchers that start or plan to use light microscopy as investigation technique. The workshop is divided in theoretical and practical sections that will be scheduled according to the number of participants. The theoretical sections will guide the attendant from the basics of light microscopy to the basics of sample preparation and image analysis. The experimental sections will follow the theoretical ones and will practically show some of the notions explained during the theoretical lessons.
Content, timetable and lectures for download can be found in the documents and links section. In case there will be more than 12 participants, additional practical sections will be scheduled after the registration is completed!

Hands-on sessions during the workshop:

Widefield microscopy (epifluorescence and transmitted light microscopy)
Structured illumination microscopy
Live cell fluorescence imaging
