UMIF Light Microscopy Workshop – Advanced - (1 day lectures + practical sections)
- Introduction to advanced imaging techniques and data analysis methods in bio-medical research -

The UKE microscopy imaging facility is offering a workshop about advanced light microscopy methods and imaging data visualization and quantification.

This workshop suit especially to PhD studend and scientists that want to explore the potential impact of advanced light microscopy techniques on their projects.

We will not cover all the topics and the many that we will treat will provide a general view and the starting point for deeper learning and understanding.

Advanced light microscopy methods like FRET, FLIM spectral unmixing FCS, FCCS, MP, SHG microscopy as well as super resolution techniques like STED MINFLUX and STORM will be described.

The workshop is divided in two parts the theoretical lectures will take place on 12.03.2021 via a webinar and will range from advanced light microscopy techniques, super resolution techniques to sample preparation, advanced data analysis and quantification. Afterwards with all the attendants practical sections will be scheduled.

The workshop is free of charge and offers unlimited place!

You are all warmly invited and please extend this invitation to every one might be interested in.

On demand the light microscopy facility and the UKE deanery will provide a certificate of attendance and the participation to this workshop can be used to get didactic credits. However this certificate will be given to the person will pass through a small test .

Content, timetable and lectures for download can be found in the documents and links section.

Hands-on sessions during the workshop:

Confocal microscopy
Direct stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (dSTORM)
Stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscopy
Visualization and quantification of confocal datasets
